Aight...this is solely based on their bar w/music experience. The Sunset Room is in a run down shopping center and not much to look at in the outside. Was not expecting much as we pulled in. But I was pleasantly surprised. The security at the door was cordial and respectful. Drinks are solid and...they have Lagunitas on draft!!!! The DJ plays a variety for your disco bunnies all the way to your current generation not to mention kills it with "La Chona". The crowd is...well, not in their early twenties but descent and very fun.

I came to this place on Saturday night with my girlfriend we had some drinks they had a DJ who played continuos new music and nobody was dancing to the music it was just too modern too much new music Most of the people there are over 25 years of age I was hoping and waiting for the Dj maybe to play some old-school funk hip-hop disco new wave rock en espanol but the DJ kept playing the same music over and over and so I can see why the dance floor was literally empty I notice people leaving and problaby Because of the music the Dj played wasn't grabbing the attention of the people there It must be a sad feeling when you're DJing and no one is dancing to your music As a DJ you can't be selfish- you have to read the crowd and feel what they want to dance to This place has potential but with a DJ who plays music for high school kids it's not going to get better My opinion ... Thanks

On my first visit, my friend and I walked over from a bar a couple of blocks down the street and almost went home because of the experience there but luckily we passed by Sunset Room and decided to go in after hearing the great music they were playing. If you are ever in Hacienda Heights this is the best local bar around. I've only been here a couple of times but the few times I have been here I had a great time. The bartenders are awesome, the waitress is super friendly and the security guards were nice enough to call my friend and I a cab at the end of the night.

There steak and lobster is the best. Good size portions and their twice baked potato is bomb. Can't beat the price. Been coming here for years. Truly a hidden treasure. Good service too.

This is my favorite place in Hacienda Heights. The food is delicious and affordable. Steak and Lobster is my usual along with the sautéed mushrooms as my starter. For drinks, the martinis are really gooood! All of the employees are very welcoming. I really enjoy coming here because of the ambiance and people. On the weekends, the dj plays the best music. I always recommend this place to my friends because I always have a good time. Sunset Room never disappoints!

Yummie crab chowder and shrimp cocktail. They have a full menu. Steak and Lobster Thursday's. Nice place for a drink after work to catch up with friends or watch a game on one of the four big screens. A friendly environment with friendly waitresses as well.

Looking for a nice, relaxed place to have dinner and drinks. This is the place. Great food. Drinks are great, properly priced. Always Looking for a nice place to unwind and listen to good music, the sunset room in hacienda heights is the place to be . And if your lucky to have jasmine wait on you is like icing on the cake. Great service.....

Stopped by for dinner on 4/30. Came solely for the Thursday steak and lobster special. Only reason I stop by Hacienda Heights. Can't beat that price. There was a decent crowd but not overly busy. The waitress was attentive and took my order right away. Didn't have to wait long for my steak and lobster. It didn't disappoint. After dinner the owner stopped by to ask about my meal. I commented that I came for the Thursday night special. We talked for a bit and he thanked me for stopping by. He even bought me a drink. Nice guy. Would recommend to my friends.

Wow this place was much better than I expected! I had never been in a bar, let alone a dive bar, in Hacienda before, so I expected something ghetto. But I was wrong! I came on a Monday night, and this place was really clean, the waitress was really nice, and in general the crowd there was pretty nice too. Mondays are comedy nights. The comedians were funny! And on to the drinks, they are super cheap and so strong! Love it!! I got really buzzed from one gin and tonic! If I drink in Hacienda again, I would definitely come back here!!

Great local bar. Love the people love the music on Friday nights. They also have Karaoke on other nights. Been her plenty of times and it is always a chill time!

The homie Geo and I came to this bar on a Tuesday night, place was cool but drinks were over priced. The food was decent, tried the tacos and mozzarella sticks okay not bad. Service was quick and friendly and they had karaoke night.

I love this place I've been coming here since I was a young lad. I love the food, the drinks, and the hospitality of the bartenders and the waitresses. I especially like eating the New York Steak and the Ribeye steak. I like the baked potato and stuffed potato. I also love the Sunset Burger with French fries. As far as the drinks I love their margaritas with patron tequila. I also love their micheladas because they put a lot of heart and soul into them. I also highly recommend their sangria drinks and fine selection of wines and Mexican beer. The fabulous music on Thursdays through Saturdays is awesome because of the club and dance mixes, 80s flashbacks, and 90s mashups. I also love checking out the local atmosphere because the people are very friendly and welcoming. I especially seeing the very beautiful bartenders and waitresses who keep me coming back for more drinks and food. I highly recommend the Sunset Room as a great bar and restaurant!

Place isn't bad for a locals bar... Walking in the music was pretty good but than they started playing a little too much of the same music... They need to play more of a variety. Kind of too much rap type of music for me... Drinks are good... I would be willing to try it again...

  • Ashley R.

This spot is pretty cool! The staff very attentive and chill AF! Great comedy show on Monday's... I consider myself a pretty funny person so I've always been judgmental about comedians but these guys did it for me. Def. going back!

This place is small but so much fun! First of all I'll be the first one to acknowledge that this place isn't a Fancy Hollywood bar but we were in search of somewhere Laidback and that served good drinks. We came here to celebrate my Cousins 21st Birthday and we had fun! The drinks were reasonably priced and the Music just made the night even better! The place got a little crowded after but it wasn't much of an issue! The waitresses were very nice and Welcoming and the Bouncers were really nice. Overall I enjoyed my time here! You should check it out!

Every night is different :) Monday's comedy night, Tuesday's karaoke night and the food is great. I've tried the chicken wrap with seasoned fries and it's really good . The dj on Wednesdays turns the crowd up :) I definitely recommend this place if u want delicious food, poppin music and tasty drinks :)

Went to cash in my free well drink with yelp check in... I didn't read the fine print...free well drink with purchase of a meal. So what did I do?? Buy my own drinks. I wasn't hungry. The service was friendly and quick.

  • Bernardo R.

Csn someone say DIVE BAR ? Just calling it as I see. It's a dark dimly lit joint. But they serve food and the pricing is decent. 3 stars unfortunately due to the condition of the spot. A little into it to liven it up wouldn't hurt, other than that like any place it's usually the usual suspects supporting the establishment and the comics even thiugh they want to get in on the act sometimes too..... Just a fiit note for the fellas the bartender is hot..... I'd say worthy of a visit but then again your version of hot and mine could be extremely different.

My favorite place to grab a cocktail in the Heights. Food is really good too. Don't let the bouncers scare you on Friday & Saturday nights. They are super friendly, as the rest of the staff there, and are doing a great job keeping the place safe. They do have a great dinner menu and a few TVs to watch games/fights. Weekend nights the music is loud and the place is pretty much pumping :) The Sunset Room isn't fancy but if you're in HH and just looking for a good spot for cocktails & conversations this place won't disappoint.

I love this place! I've been coming here for yrs, and I'm always satisfied with service, drinks and food! And the atmosphere is great for late night gatherings! It's a must come to place if you're in hacienda heights.

Went to the sunset on a Monday, it was comedy night. Great drinks, food, and the owner is a really cool guy. Definitely recommend the sunset room to anyone looking for a good time.

The only time I have been here, I didn't care for it.. It was dark and dirty and smells like musty.. I went with a few friends because they said it was college night.. I was surprised because their was no college aged people and if they went to college it had to be over 30 years ago lol safe to say it's a bar with elderly people. I haven't been back since

Good local dive bar. Haven't been in a fight yet ;) Nice retro feel.....much appreciated.

  • Donovan S.

This is one of my favorite bars to go to and I usually end up here weekly. The staff, the security and the owner are all a friendly bunch. The bartenders here actually know how to make a cocktail (a jack and coke is not a cocktail) and that's always a sign of a great bar. They have a wide selection of liquor and beers by the bottle and it always seems like something is on some sort of happy hour special every night. The atmosphere can range from any relaxed dive to a "college" bar with house music playing over the fairly decent sound system. It's got something for everyone so you'll see a wide range of clientele as well. They're just as awesome with service with regulars as they are new customers. It's the kind of place that works for everyone. You'll see friends here, couples or just guys wanting to grab a drink after a long day. Meet new people and hang with old friends and all that. I'm pretty damn picky when it comes to the types of bars I go to and I always dig the more chill bars where you can actually have a conversation and not have to worry about some bar brawl breaking out. If you want a placed where you're packed in like sardines with some god awful DJ spinning beeps and boops then head over to DTF. Or you could come on Wednesdays. They do that once a week just for you guys.

My girlfriends took me here for my birthday dinner and raved about the steak and lobster special. Why not? Wow for $21,95 you get a salad, huge lobster tail (not over-boiled), a nice piece of steak (medium-rare) and a fat baked potatoe. What a bargain ! The waitress was sweet and quick with our orders. We sat across the bar which displayed some top shelf stuff. Not bad for a dive bar. My drink was made just right and I didn't have to explain that "....and soda" means club soda, not 7-up (i'll spare the readers my Bartending Education I have to give certain establishments). The karaoke music was too loud, so I had to take away 1 star. I was pleasantly surprised that the bar did not smell. The air was clean and clear. Of course, we arrived at 8pm, before any of the action started.

Great food at reasonable prices. Live comedy show every Monday. Cool local spot, great drink specials & close to the house. You must check this place out :)

  • Roy Y.

Horrible place, wife and I arrived and the place had 4 guys at the bar. All tables were vacant. We sat down and waited 20 minutes and neither of the hostesses acknowledged us. We left without even being served water. Place sucks!

I went to sunset room for dinner on a Thursday night. I had the steak & lobster for $21.99 it was amazing. I paid almost $60 at a another restaurant for lobster and filet mignon and it was anywhere as good as this place. The service was great. Never had to ask for a refill and the waitress kept checking in on us making sure we we were good. Definately want to come back and try what else they have on their menu.

Oh Sunset Room how I love you and have endless stories for all those crazy fun nights Starting with "So we went by Sunset Room......." So I have been venturing in and out of the lovely Sunset Room for about the past 6 years or so and I must say , after coming back after a leave of absence I am always treated with the up most respect from the Owner, security and staff. Yes the staff has changed but its the class and positive characteristics they show that keep me coming back. Monday - Friday happy hour from 11:30 - 7pm , who can beat that , sure not City Lights. Their wide range of alcohol is my favorite, I mean when I go out to have a few dinks I don't want to be stuck drinking wells all night, instead I have a range of everything from decent Tequila to my favorite single malt Scotch and everything in between. Here is the run down Monday Night Live bands. $3 Dos Equis $5 Patron Shots Tuesday Night Karaoke $1 Tacos & $3 Tecates $4 Kamikazes $5 JagerBombs $6 Patron Shots College Night Wednesday's $2 Coronas & $4 Malibu/Midori $5 Jack Daniels Thursdays Steak & Lobster Special for $21.95 all day Friday and Saturday Nights DJ's Sunday Karaoke $3 Tecates $4 Kamikazes $5 JagerBombs $6 Patron Shots The weekends can get a bit crowded so come early. And I have to add the $99 Grey Goose bottle service with any three of your favorite sides. It is defiantly worth every penny, and for me the price is adequate as we are in HH and not in DTLA paying over double the price for the same bottle. I will defiantly be coming back soon. BTW whats up with the 2 1/2 stars everyone?

The food here is DELICIOUS :P and the staff here is AWESOME! It's a fun HANGOUT. My favorite bartenders are Angel and Enrique. It's a great place to either eat at or just hang out with your friends and have some good BEER and drinks. I just wish they'd play more alternative and rock music :( . If you eat here, try the stuffed potato, it's one of the BEST I've ever had. The fresh made soup of the day is always good too. I definitely RECOMMEND this place :)

I came here on a Sunday night to celebrate my new found single-hood. When I checked in, I was rewarded with a free "well-drink". What a wonderful way to start the evening! We arrived at around 10 pm to celebrate a friend's birthday. I was surprised to see how happening it was on a Sunday night. Then again, it was a birthday party, and there were a lot of people willing to endure Monday hangovers for the birthday boy. There was also a small live band playing good music! (None of the usual Nicki Minaj crap). All I know, is that I danced my heart out. As for the crowd, it's hard to say... the location is a bit seedy. AND, the booths are very comfortable in case you need to rest your head for a couple minutes ;) And ladies, think of it as a good place to drink, dance, and have a great time. As for meeting someone, well...I think you might have better luck at the mall.

If you could bottle a mid-1990's flyer party and smack a label on it, that label would probably say, "Sunset Room." This place had everything that a Latino dive bar should have. From the near empty bottle of Corona in the hand of the cholo who dressed up in his best pendelton and polished the rims on his wheel chair from that inadvertent shooting at the El Monte liquor store, to the super-sized ghetto queen in her 5x-too-small dress and her excess foot meat spilling out of her ill-fitting Suzie's Fashions, high-heels. Great fun for a local spot to catch some entertainment. The bartenders are really friendly, and the drinks are reasonably priced. And they really do have a wide selection of beers. They also have a really cool system where they play the video for the song the DJ is playing on a flat screen T.V.

  • Martha M.

For being a local bar, it wasn't that bad, but I really would recommend it for groups of people/friends hanging out, or couples who want to have a drink, but don't want to drive far from home, but for the rest of the single crowd (especially women)....yea you might want to head towards Puente Hills Mall or Uptown Whittier for that matter, its slim pickins there in every sense of that word..... It was a Saturday night & it was close by, the music was a nice mix of 80's stuff (especially if your in the 40 age bracket), we came in & saw our age group & older crowd, but once it hits 9 or 10 the younger generation start to crept in and well it was pretty mellow...again if your single, alot more energetic & have higher expectations, than you might want to head to the areas I listed, it is really quite mellow.... Oh, my one & only complaint is that they don't have Draft beef for those who drink beer :(

Always have a great Dj playing new and old music,. The Djs do what is called Video Mixing, which is the music videos to the songs being played on the tvs while you hear the song. great drink prices and fun crowd. Also the dinner special on thursday is unbeatable. Steak and lobster for like $21.

Havent been here in such a long time....We recently ventured to this neck of the woods on a Sunday night to meet up with some friends before the Holidays. The Sunset Room is located in a bit of a run down strip mall on Hacienda Blvd. The whole place could use a fresh coat of paint and some cleaning but none the less, not a shifty spot. I guess it was recently "re-modeled" after a small fire took out the bar area. The place itself it fairly decent. A good amout of seating and a nice sized bar. Clean restrooms and what looked like a little stage area. THe place was pretty quiet when we first got there, found a nice booth close to the bar and in the back. It's a pretty decent sied place as well. It was Karaoke night and you can tell some of the people there mean business and that it seems to be the usual crows since they all cheer eachother on by name. Got pretty full by the time we left, about midnight. Drink prices were decent and servie was quick. cocktail servers were attentive but not pushy or rude. All in all it was a fun little time. I could see ourselves going back when we're in the neighborhood.

  • Byron V.

My favorite bar to go to. Every night is different from taco Tuesdays, dancing, comedy night, and karaoke. They make any kind of drink you want. the staff is incredibly friendly and inviting from the owner to the security guards and everyone in between. It's one of those bars were you go one time and you're gonna keep coming back!

    (5)
  • Angel T.

Cool local bar to hang out and have some drinks, especially on the weekend. I have never had dinner here, although I've heard from many people that the steak and lobster are really good. They also host comedy night, which I've been to a few times. Sometimes comedians like Jeff Garcia will show up and try some of their new material, which is always great! I say, drink up!

    (5)
  • Robert C.

Pretty cool place. Went there just to get a drink with a friend. Ended up meeting a hot blonde. Drinks are pretty good. Nice and cool in there and great music friendly staff.

Hepatitis from food poisoning I got when I brought my mother here for Thursday steak and lobster night. Thank God my mother didn't order the steak or she would have gotten sick too! I had to see 3 specialists in three weeks just to rule out anything else. This was around February 21st 2013. Never again! Stay away people.

  • Kay C.

I've had okay experiences with this place but the last 2 experiences I had made me never want to go back. 1st night; I got to witness "twerking" for the first time and felt pretty sleazy just watching. I didn't know whether to keep staring or look away...this girl literally had her legs on the wall and was balanced on her hands. I'm not sure why anyone would wanna do that in public but hey to each their own lol. Second (and last) night; super packed! I couldn't even walk around the little dance floor area and kept getting bumped into when attempting to dance. It also felt rather gross and humid. I left after about an hour and have finally decided it's time to retire this place from my list. Sorry Sunset Room; it was fun while it lasted x)

  • Jackie S.

I was dragged here by a friend who claimed this place was a good time. It was on a Thursday night after dinner (there were 4 of us total) and we didn't feel like driving out of the area. Oh how she lied. *Reeked of Urine *Ghetto *Small *Dirty *Douchebag central I kept looking over my shoulder. lol I ran to my car once we came out. I won't be back here, ever. Stay away!

  • Vanessa F.

I really like the atmosphere of the bar. What can I say? I like dive bars. I wasn't too keen on the pricey drinks that were awfully weak. The food is typical bar food, which of course I like because it's fried. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but I also wouldn't turn down hanging out with friends at this place.

Love this place Great Food Bomb drinks People there are super chill Everything about this place is simply just awesome

    (5)
  • Daniel M.

The epitome of dive bars, The Sunset Room is basically a local high school reunion with all the people you don't care to see again. The conversation usually goes like this: Me: "What's up dude? What are you up to these days?" Guy I wasn't Really Friends With In High School: "Nothing man. Living. Just living." Me: "Cool......" Yup.

Its a great place to go. Wednesday college night, thursday steak and lobster with live band. Sunday NFL ticket! Just the right place to be at

    (5)
  • James S.

I came here with a friend right after a concert bc we didn't drink enough there we were hardly buzzed, but when we got here, the security guard was awesome talking to us, and being friendly, the drinks were a good price, and were strong, so we left on a good buzz :) Like this place and having my bday here this month.

  • Miguel G.

I've always had great service here, never any problems with losing my drinks, never any problems with the security... I have seen them in action and they do get serious a lot, but hey, they're security... That's how they should be... I only go there two days of the week... Monday and Wednesday Monday's are comedy nights where you can find big name comedians for free, but a lot of the comedians are just trying out their new material... Wednesday night I guess is college night, plenty of women, though it's still considered the SGV so still more guys than girls, though more of a 2-1 ratio than a 5-1.... My only complaint would be the bathroom... Too small... So if you're looking for some good laughs or just feel like dancing without that Hollywood creep vibe, than come to the sunset room...

    (4)
  • viet p.

Place is dirty, service sucks. The security are jerks. The owner especially is a one of a kind. He really need to reconsider how he treats his customers if he wants to stay in business. I would not ever come here again. Don't waste your time.

    (1)
  • Bran V.

A pat down before entering a dive bar? Hmmm... Okay, I had zero expectations walking into this place; I mean it's a dive bar in the middle of strip mall in Hacienda Heights. So I have to admit that I don't have too many complaints... They didn't have Jameson... or any other Irish Whiskey for that matter... that's probably my only complaint actually.... Overall, it's a decent setup inside with 70's era red booths spaced far enough away from the main bar to enjoy a good conversation over some drinks. They do serve food, although I didn't take a look at the menu... When I first arrived, the Laker game was on and by the time I left a DJ was in full swing and had a small crowd grooving on the dancefloor... I wouldn't make the Sunset Room my final destination on any given night, but it's definitely a decent spot to put down a couple if your local...

I am also a 5 year ago oldie of this place. I loved their mushroom appetizer dish. The SR is no longer...I could not believe what changes have happened here. What a shame. Oh well, what can you do? Me, I just dont go back and live with the memories....

If I had written this review ten plus years ago it would have been five stars. I'm one of the old timers who used to enjoy the older lady (Evelyn I think) that would dress in floor length dresses and seat you for dinner, while the piano guy tinkled on in the background. Barry (one of the bartenders, now working at Del Rae I think) made the BEST martini in the whole world.. it was like a private dinner club until the "Grand Dame" (the aforementioned Evelyn) would leave for the night and then everyone would just get scholtzed and have a GREAT time. I can't tell you how many nights my BF and I came for dinner (they used to have the best food, not chi chi, but just good honest meals, like you'd get at home) and stayed to close the place... anyway... it's all gone now, ... you get frisked at the door by guards with guns, there's a cover charge, there are always fights and it's turned into some worse than a dive bar parody of itself. If it would at least just accept what it is (a dive like the more fun City Fights *see my other review*) I could deal with it... but it tries to be a club in the middle of a strip mall in the center of what used to be an affulent suburb but is now going slightly downhill. I've been back to the sunset room in a few of it's incarnations, but when my BF got searched and roughly patted down and paid $5 for the experience, and when we saw what they did to the inside of it, we left and have never been back.

So, we decide to come here on a whim because we hear this bar had a comedy night on mondays. BAD IDEA. The waitress couldn't remember our orders, she took over 10 min to bring ONE beer back to my friend, and then didn't "remember" if he had opened a tab or not. HE GAVE HER HIS CREDIT CARD and she doesn't remember if she has it or not. (are you kidding me!?) After that ordeal, we kind of started to enjoy ourself, at least the music was decent. Finally the "comedian" starts his "skit". This guy was such a FAILURE at LIFE.. not even comedy, but LIFE. His whole skit were stereotypical "race" jokes that every one has heard a million times. HE WAS NOT FUNNY. i believe he asked "where's all the black people at!?" the only one in the back makes noise and he says "oh what's up T.I" and one point called me "glasses" because i was wearing them... what are we in the 3rd grade? we walked out of the place less than 10 minutes into this guys set. NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN.

    (1)
  • Moni M.

Seriously? What happened? I remember the days when the bartenders wore bow ties and white button down shirts. Now it's been tainted and been transformed (unfortunately) to a "club" where you get the guys in Affliction t-shirts and girls wearing matching plastic bangle bracelets and plastic earings, who don't want to drive west of the 605. (Ok, at least on the weekends, on a random Tuesday you can still get a little of the old vibe). Maybe it's just that I like dive bars but I think there was something truly wonderful about the Sunset Room when you could drop in on a Saturday night, see some of the old folks drunkenly singing along to some song that I never heard before on the karaoke stage, and enjoy a stiff drink or a really cold beer... I miss the good ol' days of the Sunset Room. I still think it could go back to it's glory days (in my opinion)... but I don't think I will be going back. It lost it's flare once security guards started patting down and carding customers and a cover charge was introduced at the door. Still though, I can't fully knock it... Guess it's the nostalgia. =o(

The bouncers have guns. They frisked the guys in the group, checked the purses of all us girls, and actually made me leave my prescription ibuprofen in the car. The music was so unbearably bad and stupidly loud that I had to shout into the ear of the person sitting next to me just to have a conversation. We left almost immediately. Don't even bother.

I must say I did enjoy the music and the drinks, but what bummed me out is that they stole my friend's clutch wallet. Included in there was her cell. Same idiot stole my other friend's cell!! Walking in to this place you can tell it's probably not trustworthy, shady and kinda ghetto... Yeah you can say it's my friends' fault for leaving their crap six inches from them on top of the speaker while dancing, but non- the less they didn't deserve to get their crap stolen. Security guards, Jose and Ray, recovered one cell, but clutch and other cell were never accounted for. This idiot guy was obviously drunk and more than likely on drugs and deserved to be withdrawn from this venue much earlier. And yes you guessed it, I will be not returning to this place... First and last. Security needs to screen or be more selective of people entering, and get rid of them as they get inappropriate as did that guy who stole...

If you like Dive bars this is a fun place! The actually have good food from about 11:00 Am-10:00 PM and after that they have special stuff going on depending on the time of the week. They have good concerts on the weekends and DJS and Kareoke during the week!

This is a great place for the locals. This place is older than your grandma and has recently been renovated by the new owner. Its in the shopping strip next to Casa de Tacos and Christy's doughnuts (great after a long night of drinking). Yes, you get patted down by security if you're a guy and yes, there's a fight almost every weekend, but that's in large part due to the crowd that has migrated in there! The bartender, Sexy Lex, makes a mean drink and did i mention they have $2 beer on Wednesdays to go with yummy $1 tacos! The DJ spins a little electronica, hip hop, 80's and some pop. The dance floor is always jam packed with kids getting down. I would have to say that the Sunset Room is a great place to have a low key night in the local area.

I don't know why we came by here last night. Not like I wanted to drink. my buddy went and got a beer. The place was old and dingy and from a previous yelper mentioned it was college night, are you kidding me.

This place has the best Karaoke on Sundays. Rockband & Guitar Hero too. The lights and lasers are amazing. Alex & George are super cool too.

Good spot, drinks are always strong. Nice crowd, but a little on the small side. Went there on wednesday (the best day) and it was lively. little dance floor but you can make it work. two restrooms for girls.

4.5 stars? Really? My friends the dj here so we've been here a few times. I could say out of 10 times, 2, maybe 3 times it was good. Its like a highschool reunion. They have comedy nite. Not sure what nites. Tue? Thur? Not to pricey. I've seen drama here more then once. Its coo to go once in a big while. You just have to go on the right nite. ; ^ D

This place use to be alright, now it's kind of a mess. It seems like they're trying whatever they can to make a quick buck and it's kind of backfiring. They have a comedy night on Tuesdays I think, but the few times i've been in there for that, I can honestly say none of it was to funny. I laughed more at the fights that tend to brake out there. Their Coronas are pretty cheap, $2 bucks. Other than that, the well drinks could be pretty steep for the way they're served up. Alot of ice, you know? So to each their own, go in with a friend or two and see for yourself. :o)

The sunset room is a waste of time and money not to mention they're crooks!!! I went to go see a band play and they brought in a lot of people and the music was good, I guess the singer was promised an open tab for the band because he kept saying he wanted one of his free drinks. Then after the show I guess the band and the owner or manager got into an argument over not paying the band-which I thought was low seeing how there was nobody in the bar before the band went on. Plus the owner was yelling at the band even though they were asking politely! I cant believe that he was making a scene in his own restaurant in front of all of his customers! So dont give the sunset room any of your money if they cant learn to keep deals, I mean come on, you run a restaurant and bar, at least try to be professional about it.

A regular at this place. The manager's are cool and good friends of mine. I wish there were places like this in Sacramento where they play good music, have cheap drinks, and can bring out a crowd on some nights, but stay low key on others. I wouldn't pay attention to any of the bad reviews. Trust me, it's hard to find good places like this one anywhere else.

The Sunset Room is a great place to chill, relax, dance, laugh, sing, etc. Depending on the night, the place is either a Sports Bar, Stand-up Comedy, Karaoke, or Live Music/DJ event. Drinks are reasonably priced and the plus factor is that they do serve food up to a certain time at night for all those alcohol munchie needs. The atmosphere is friendly. Good people, good vibes. A sufficient sized establishment with a nice number of booths to hang out with friends and catch up on the week. Sundays and Mondays, Coronas are $2 and 1/2 off appetizers!

ive been to this place for happy hour on sunday afternoons and the club on saturday night. happy hour is pretty good; strong, cheap drinks and tasty appetizers but the club is something totally different. too crowded, no designated dance floor to speak of. people were dancing everywhere even in the bathroom line which by the way was super long!! the place smelled like b.o. and the crowd was way young and obnoxious! i'll stick to happy hour at this place but pass on the club.

What a shithole bar. Show up on a friday night to armed security outside the bar with a manager. Understandable maybe they have problems there im not concerned. Anyways get my ID out and ready to walk in and am told about some BS dresscode they have and they're not allowing baseball hats or shorts "tonight". You gotta be kidding me right? This is a DIVE bar in friggin hacienda heights in the middle of one of the dumpiest strip malls ive seen in years and you're telling me about some dresscode? Hollywoods 20 miles west guys drop the shit. Maybe I just looked like too much trouble being a white guy with a nice plaid shirt on and some dickies shorts but whatever F this place. All i wanted to do was get a drink with my friends but i guess i'm not good enough to get in to such a fine establishment as the sunset room. Went to BJ's which is worlds apart in terms of class obviously and got served all the alcohol i could ever want. F you sunset room!

A good spot to stop by if you are a local. Excellent drink specials ...good DJ and atmosphere. Wednesdays are college night usually the best day to go....go earlier for parking but theres a supermarket across the street that isn't too far and if you are willing to chance parking there. Otherwise a good time...good and friendly service. :D
